The MTNA Local Association of the Year Award recognizes the local Music Teachers Association that makes the most significant contribution to the music teaching profession through participation in MTNA national programs and additional programs established within their state and local area.

Consisting primarily of independent piano teachers located throughout the Des Moines area, Des Moines Music Teachers Association is affiliated with Iowa Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association. These are organizations representing not only piano teachers, but music professionals throughout the country teaching in a variety of disciplines. Our purpose is to raise the standards of music teaching and performing.
